Diane Pietrocarlo, RD, CSSD, CDN
Diane is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, and is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. She has had a successful private practice for more than 40 years. She recently retired as Consultant Dietitian at Union College. Diane has begun to wind down her practice and is now providing telehealth nutrition counseling to a small number of clients.
Diane has had a variety of clinical, consulting, and personal experience that has contributed to her expertise over the years. She has served on several boards including American Cancer Society, Capital Region Association for Eating Disorders, and the Hudson Valley Dietetic Association, of which she is a past President. Diane is a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Hudson Valley Dietetic Association, Behavioral Health Nutritionists, and Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionists. She is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology's Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Nutrition & Dietetics.
Diane's struggle with and recovery from an eating disorder led her to the field of dietetics. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. She enjoys working with teens and adults of all ages who struggle with their relationship with food, exercise, and body image. She believes that recovery is possible with the proper collaboration of health care providers. Diane also enjoys working with recreational and competitive athletes of all ages.
Diane is an avid dancer, walker, and yoga practitioner. She is married to a runner and is the mother of two daughters who played competitive basketball and volleyball in high school and at the Division I and II levels in college.
